Lots of Mughal Architecture is around — also British Raj era buildings.
Visit:
The Bara Imambara. This place is fascinating and has a labyrinth!! Quite the picture opportunity.
The Residency. This is where the British Resident (the person who was a link between the Nawab and the British East India Co.) resided, along with his European cohorts.
The Mall. The mall in Lucknow is the third largest mall in India — and worth going to if just to see what an Indian mall is like.
The Zoo. The zoo has what the Lonely Planet describes as "not the worst enclosures in India", but is probably most interesting for the museum that is inside of it. Tons of Buddhist, Hindu, and Jain sculptures/statues — and the best part is that no one really cares if you touch. It's a great interactive museum experience. The museum also houses some monumental British sculptures of Queen Victoria and others.
Shop for Chikan cloth. This is a type of embroidery that Lucknow is famous for.
